Renton Sunny Daycare offers optional text-message updates to parents who ask for them. This page describes exactly how a parent opts in, what they receive, and how to stop. Texting is never required to book a tour, enroll, or receive care.

How a parent opts in

On our tour request, enrollment, and WCCC enrollment forms, the step that asks for a phone number shows a separate, unchecked-by-default checkbox. The form can be completed and submitted with the box left unchecked; in that case we contact the family by phone and email only. A parent opts in to texts only by actively checking the box. The checkbox text reads:

Yes, text me. I agree to receive automated text messages from Renton Sunny Daycare at the number above about tour scheduling, enrollment follow-up, and updates about your child's care (pickup and drop-off timing, closures, and reminders). Message frequency varies; families using pickup and drop-off may receive messages daily.

Directly beneath the box the form states: “Texting is optional and is not required to book a tour, enroll, or receive care. Leave this box unchecked and we’ll reach you by phone and email instead.” It also discloses that message and data rates may apply, that a parent can reply HELP for help or STOP to cancel, and links to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

This is how the opt-in step appears on a phone:

When the box is checked, we record the date and time of consent together with the phone number the parent entered. We do not import phone lists, and we do not text anyone who has not checked the box themselves.

What we send

• Tour scheduling: confirming a tour time or offering alternatives.
• Enrollment follow-up: paperwork reminders and start-date confirmation.
• Care updates for enrolled families: pickup and drop-off timing, closures, and reminders.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies; families using pickup and drop-off may receive messages daily. Standard rates: Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile phone service plan.

How to stop or get help

• Reply STOP to any message to cancel. You will receive one confirmation text and nothing further.
• Reply HELP to any message, or email hello@rentonsunnydaycare.com or call (253) 487-0991.
• Opting out of texts never affects your tour, enrollment, or care.
